I cannot sign up for the app - gives network error but there are no issues with my network, everything else is working. Seems this didn’t get fixed at all for almost a year as far as I can see from the other comments. Also, the sensor is so hard to open that I broke my nails and had to use a knife to open it and remove the foil on the battery. Poor design and non-functioning app. Not worth spending the money.

Before I had even contacted WANFEI US about my defective product they reached out to me having seen my review and offered a full refund. So for anyone debating whether or not to place an order I feel confident in stating that, while product control may not be perfect when it comes to this monitor, the company's customer service is committed to make things right should you receive a faulty device.

I bought this in anticipation of getting a plant for my bedroom based on The Spruce's article of Best Plant Moisture Meters and, assuming the recommended product would function well, neglected to open it until I finally had a use.

Well, 6 weeks the plant had arrived, so I finally unboxed the WANFEI Monitor, removed the tab that activates the battery/Bluetooth, brought my phone as close to the device as possible and: Nothing.

Couldn't get signal/connection.

Unfortunately I'm now well past the point of a Free Return through Amazon.

But as my Headline alludes, looks like I'm not the only one who has experienced this and at least one other reviewer shared having a good experience with customer service, so in addition I'll be reaching out to them.

I've had one of these a month now, and just got a second one. I am using these with Home Assistant, and an ESPHome bluetooth proxy device to send the data to Home Assistant. In HA I set up notifications to let me know when to water the plants. I will update this in case one breaks or anything. So far after a month, the first one still says 100% battery left. A little pricey, but now I can "remember" to water the plants much better with the HA notifications.

The first time I set up the product it worked reasonably well - I didn't have any issues connecting it to my phone or getting the sensor set up to start giving readings, at first... However, after a month or so of use, problems began to develop between phone app and the sensor. It got so bad that I no longer use the product.

- About 90% of the time, the phone app cannot connect to or sync with the sensor anymore without opening the application, closing the application, restarting the phone, repeating the process, etc.
- Many times, I cannot get the sensor or the data at all - after many times closing the application, restarting, moving the sensor closer, restarting the phone, it will still hang on "SDK" errors, infinitely "sync" and never finish, and display old/incorrect data while failing to properly connect.
- It's not clear if this sensor is really accurate: I have other sensors that produce significantly different readings for things like soil moisture and the light levels. The other sensors read closer to each other... It is difficult to determine why this sensor would read so differently from others.
- It's not really clear what "fertility" means in the app or what influences it. Is it some type of soil chemical composition being measured? A value calculated based on moisture + lux? I don't know. The value seems to fluctuate most significantly after watering - but doesn't seem influenced by things like fertilizer or soil composition. Confusing and unhelpful data.

Overall, it's not clear how accurate the sensors are and it's even less clear exactly what some of the sensors are measuring in terms of soil moisture and "fertility" levels. It's a great idea, but without the product consistently functioning correctly, a way to better determine if it is even accurate or not, or understanding more about what it is even measuring, I can't recommend this product.

I hope this thing is accurate because I love the app and the ease of use. It seems super accurate for sunlight and water because I can test that. The fertility of the soil is the best feature and seems to be working. It showed a low fertility and I started adding fertilizer and the numbers went up. I have yet to hit the range for soil fertility mark so I hope it is right because I am jacking up the fertilizer. But so far I really like this product. Great app and if it is as accurate as it seems so far it is the missing ingredient to my planter gardens!

Le produit est très facile à mettre en route , il suffit d’ôter le couvercle ( un peu dur a retirer ) et d’enlever la protection plastique de la pile au lithium. Ensuite depuis l'application il suffit de cliquer sur ajouter un périphérique et le tour est joué ! on a alors la possibilité de choisir sa plante depuis une base de donnée. Les données comme l' hygrométrie , la luminosité , la fertilité du sol et la température sont analysé presque chaque seconde et le capteur a la possibilité de stocker quelques jours d historique qu il renvoie a l'application lorsque on lance une synchronisation. Je n'ai aucun reproche a faire sur la fiabilité des mesures. Il faut juste savoir que c'est un capteur qui utilise une connexion bluetooth appelé " Low Energy" qui utilise très peu les piles mais qui limite la portée a quelques mètres, donc on ne peut pas recevoir une alarme pour un manque d'eau par exemple , il faut penser a lancer la synchronisation de temps en temps.
En tout cas je ne compte plus m'en passer !
